Connally students at Cannes

Students at Austin’s Connally High School are part of the Cannes Film Project, and will be sending  two short films to the Cannes Film Festival. FALLEN and a documentary about its production, are collabrations between Midian Films of Round Rock and students from the school’s advanced video technology class. The production teams for FALLEN inculded: Chris Fuson & Garvin Lau, Producers; Sofia Castellanos, Director; Damien Flores, Writer & Assistant Director; Alex Rosales, Director of Photography; Greg Wicks, Art Director. The documentary, THE MAKING OF FALLEN was crewed by Shae Kuykendall, Director; Christopher Pérez, Cinematographer & Editor; Andres Vasquez, Cinematographer & Editor. Webisodes about the project were made by: Sebastian Gomez-Martinez, Director; Flor Denova, Editor; Jeremy Diaz, Editor; and B.J. Saavedra, Animator. Students and teachers involved are planning to travel to France for the filmʼs premiere in May, 2011. Some of the students will be presenting their film and touting the Apple products used to produce and promote it tomorrow, Tuesday, March 8,7pm, at Sherlock’s Baker Street Pub, 9012 Research Blvd., Austin.
