Staten Island artist Scott LoBaido will begin painting the world’s largest American flag on the 3.5 acre roof of the Lamons Gasket company’s manufacturing facility at 7300 Airport Blvd., Houston today. It’s Flag Day. The finished piece will be "revealed" on July 4th. LoBaido, who is famous for painting flags, says, "I have seen the Mona Lisa, Michelangelo’s David. The American flag is more beautiful." Lamons president, Kurt Allen, offered LoBaido $55,000 for supplies and labor, and a team of 15 helpers.
