Motion-music painter David Ellis will be in Austin to work on a video piece for UT’s new Visual Art Center. While he’s here, he would also like to paint in a wish list of other places as cool as his art: laundromats, barbershops, record stores, bookstores,’70s Era Vans, 18-wheelers, mobile homes, boats, piñata shops, Mexican restaurants, catfish parlors, and BBQ Spots. Ellis’ frequently works directly on the walls of spaces that remain open to the public during installation like a band playing in front of a passing audience.
