Margaret C. Skidmore, longtime Associate Director and head of Development at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston passed away this morning, Monday, November 9, surrounded by family after months of battling cancer. Skidmore, the charming "Empress of Development" was instrumental in the huge gains the MFAH experienced under director Peter Marzio, but spared time to assist nonprofits as diverse as Workshop Houston, the Skowhegan summer art program, and the the Julia Ideson Library Preservation Partners.
