Dallas sinkhole widens

by Bill Davenport October 7, 2009

Dallas’ Pan American Art Projects will close its doors at on December 23, after almost seven years of bringing international artists to the metroplex. Its partner gallery in Miami will remain open. PAAP’s final exhibition, Out of My Mind featuring gallery artist Ellen Frances Tuchman, opens October 17. A founding member of the Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas (CADD), Pan American also facilitated the experimental CADD Art Lab, a non-profit gallery space downtown, which closed in September!

Gerald Peters Gallery in February and And/Or Gallery in July have closed as well. 2009 has been a bad year for good galleries in Dallas.
