Community Tree by Houston artist Tim Glover has been installed at the entrance to the Acres Homes Community Center in Houston. Part Roxy Paine, part Joel Shapiro, a shiny steel tree with oversized leaves shelters little steel houses, representing "the rural beauty of the Acres Homes Community." Glover has been sculpting in Houston since 1986 and has completed projects with MECA, the University of Houston, Metro Light Rail, the City of Houston and the Westcott Roundabout Initiative. For the Artist Neighborhood Project, Community Tree was selected as a finalist out of 33 applicants.
