CNN reports the latest Texas death row plea is coming from Anthony Gormley’s empty plinth in Trafalgar Square, London. The project, in which members of the public are invited to spend an hour on display in one of the most visible spots in London, attracted Brian Capaloff, a Scottish man who chose to use his hour to plead the case of Linda Carty, convicted in Texas of the 2001 murder of Joanna Rodriguez. Capaloff played a seven minute recording from Carty at the suggestion of Reprieve, a British charity.
