Trekkies take it to the next level when Aurora Picture Show presents Star Trek fan films. Savage Empire was written and filmed by Starship Exeter, a group of Trekkies who rented a Minneapolis warehouse and spent two years filming their own Star Trek story line. They used friends and acquaintances as actors and made their own costumes and sets. It took them seven years from start to finish but the results are just as engagingly cheesy as the original. Exeter crew members will be in attendance, Saturday, July 25, 7:00 p.m., DiverseWorks, 1117 East Freeway; $7 for non-members.
