Among the things HAA is doing one of this this year’s $12 mil: they’re commisssioning International artist Dennis Oppenheim to install "Radiant Fountains," three sixty-foot tall towers of animated, colored lights at Houstons George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The sculptures, covered with thousands of LEDs mimic the splashing of water drops, described by HAA as "energetic, creative and contemporary." and will replace the "Welcome to Houston" sign at the airport’s exit.
