The MFAH has just finished installing French artist Bernar Venet's 82.5° Arc x 11 (2008), or Vertical Arc, in it sculpture garden. All ten tons of steel are on loan from an unnamed private collection. Despite deciding "for theoretical reasons, to cease his artistic activities" between 1971-76, Venet has written a ballet, some poetry, put out two CDs of sound work, makes furniture and had seventeen solo shows in 2003.
