On Saturday, May 16 the new Nidhika and Pershant Mehta Arts of India gallery at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston opens. It's the latest of five new permanent galleries devoted to the art of Asia at the MFAH. The museum is also angling for sculptor Anish Kapoor to create a piece for the gallery's entrance. Festivities, both sacred and secular, abound: a "Hooray for Bollywood!” film festival honoring the late director B. R. Chopra on Saturday, May 16, then children and a Hindu Priest from Chinmaya Mission will sing hymns at 3pm on Sunday the 17th. All FREE!
