Give Get

by Bill Davenport March 19, 2009

Whole Foods is presenting the 5th annual "Empty Bowls Houston" this Saturday, March 21. Donating  $25 to the Houston Food Bank gets you a lunch of soup, bread and water and your pick of hundreds of handcrafted, one-of-a-kind bowls created by Houston area ceramists, woodturners and other artists. See, the empty bowls symbolize people who don’t have any food so their bowl is empty. Get it? Get it? Heavy-handed symbolism aside, you’ll be helping people and there will no doubt be some cool stuff available. Arrive early though, otherwise you might get stuck with the bad raku…
