Sandy Skoglund, pioneer of today’s wave of big, colorful, contrived, surreal photographs, will speak at the McNay Art Museum on Thursday, June 12, at 2 and 7 pm. Her talk, titled Reality Under Siege, "will take audience members on a journey through a collision of colorful and contrasting worlds central to her sculpture and photographs". In addition, Skoglund will host a workshop from 9 am-4 pm on June 12 in which teachers create psychological self-portraits using telphone wire, then get ice cream.
