Modern Art Space is opening in McAllen (1301-B North Main Street) with
a getting-started Christmas Art Sale on Saturday, December 22, from
7-10 p.m. and continuing with a group show on January 4th. Pronounced
"manic-house" the space grew out of the shows
artist/couple Omar I. Rodriguez and Dawn Haughey have held at their
house in nearby Edinburg since 2004. "We got together about three years
ago and just started pursuing art, basically feeling we could do just
as well as the big cities. We found a lot of talented artists down here
that we wanted to network with, and just get things rolling."
