Former Core fellow Mark Allen is coming back to Houston this week to give a lecture on “DIY Art Spaces” at UH!! Thursday, Sept. 6, 1pm at the Fine Arts Building, room 110, on campus. Allen, whose Machine Project in LA is consistently one of the most interesting spaces in that city, promises an intro to do-it-yourself art spaces with his own projects as “case studies.” Listen up, young Houston art turks: this will be a practical guide to everything involved in creating, promoting and sustaining an art space!
