On top of being selected as a finalist for the Arthouse Texas Prize (see below), Dallas-based artist Ludwig Schwarz has received the 2004 Moss/Chumley Artist Award from the Meadows Museum of Art. The award carries a cash prize of $1,500 and is given annually to a North Texas artist who has exhibited at least 10 years (making it refreshingly not for the very young or very old, necessarily). Now if the Mavs could just get healthy before playoffs, Schwarz’s year will be made.
